Frozen Moments

To say goodbye to 2012, welcome winter and hope for a new year full of sunshine and happy moments, I share from my little collection of bought and found photographs a small series of orphaned photos from the late 1960s that I dug up from deep in the dusty heaps of books, loose pictures and albums at The Thing in Brooklyn, NY. The images belong to two or three different series, presumably torn from one album.

    (a.k.a. Photographs)

Yes, it snows in pictures too

    We wrapped our furniture

       just in case…

Where do we go from here?

This series of large photo-text montages juxtaposed to a video-interview with Stanley Greene was part of the group show Multivocal Histories, curated by Bas Vroege. This show was embedded within the Noorderlicht Photofestival held in the fall of 2009.

Among the other artists/photographers/researchers included in Multivocal Histories are Susan Meiselas, Andrea Stultiens, Julian Germain, Anastasia Khoroshilova, Tim Hetherington, Ales Vasicek, Vojta Dukát, Jian Jiang, Wouter den Bakker, and Florian Schwarz.
